Driving a bus is the perfect job for an individual looking for a part-time opportunity!  Specifically, CyRide is looking to hire several candidates wanting 20-39 hours per week. You do not need your commercial drivers license to apply and be hired at CyRide.  After we hire you, CyRide will provide you with all the training you need in how to drive a transit bus and enable you with the necessary skills to obtain your commercial drivers license (CDL) as well as required endorsements the Iowa DOT requires of professional bus drivers. 

CyRide employees that attend Iowa State University can receive preference to register for classes on the "first day of their year-in-school classification" to get the specific classes they need for their degree!  CyRide is very flexible with our workforce to help our employees create their work schedule around their university classes, exams and ISU breaks.

A good driving record is a prerequisite when you work for CyRide. The starting wage is $20.14 per hour effective 9/16/2022!  New bus drivers that start for CyRide will also receive a $1,000 bonus payable in three installments!  Additionally, drivers will receive paid vacation and sick leave when working more than 20 hours after 6 months of continuous employment.  For additional job requirements, go to www.cyride.com/jobs!
