Des Moines Airport Shuttle
How it Works
CyRide operates the Des Moines Airport Shuttle service on the days before/after Thanksgiving, Semester Break and Spring Break which is open to the general public. Please scroll down to check the timetables/schedules below for the day you would like to travel with CyRide. Then, fill out the on-line DSM Airport Reservation form for each trip needed to reserve your space on the bus. (ie... If you need CyRide to transport you to the airport and then back to Ames after break, you will need to fill out two separate forms.) Be sure to click the link under the appropriate timetable to access the on-line form submittal for the day you are requesting transportation. By filling out your reservation, our drivers will be watching for you the day that you ride.

Tips

As you book your trip, you may want to ensure that you arrive at the Des Moines Airport at least an hour prior to your flight departure.

Be on time at your bus stop! Arriving five minutes early will ensure that you catch your bus. Since this service operates based on the schedules listed below, if you are late...the bus may leave without you. Again, please be on time.

Have your payment (cash or check) in-hand when boarding. Cost for the service is listed below.
Cost
$12 per person per trip (including ISU students)
$6 per trip for Medicare cardholders, elderly, persons with a disability, and
K-12 Ames students

| The 10:00 p.m. (6:00 Sunday) bus will wait only until 10:30 p.m. (6:30 Sunday) if you are waiting for your luggage. Your plane's scheduled arrival time must be before 10:00pm (6:00 Sunday) and you must contact the driver outside the airport before the scheduled departure time. After that, you will need to make other arrangements to get to Ames. | |||

Other Arrangements
On days or times that a shuttle does not run, taxicab service is available at the Des Moines International Airport 24 hours/day, 7-days/ week. No pre-scheduling necessary to take taxicabs. Taxicabs are located just outside the main baggage claim door of the airport. During afternoon and evening hours a cab steward is on-duty on the curb to assist you to your cab. The taxicab fare to Ames is US $80-100. Taxicabs can accommodate up to 4 students. Des Moines taxicabs accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard & American Express as acceptable forms of payment.
