CyRide is the city bus system for Ames, Iowa. It is a collaboration between the city of Ames, Iowa State University,
and ISU's Government of the Student Body.

Detours & Closed Stops
#6 Brown Route Detour & Bloomington Closed Stops - Effective Monday, July 6th through mid August (approximately 4 weeks), CyRide buses will be unable to cross the railroad tracks on Bloomington due to track reconstruction during this time. For more information including closed stops and a map of the route, please click here!
#6 Brown Somerset Shuttle Service - Due to the detour of #6 Brown detour described above, CyRide will be operating a Somerset shuttle during this time (July 6th - approximate 4 week duration) transporting passengers on Stange between 24th Street and Bloomington to/from ISU campus. Union Drive & Welch Road Closure - Effective Monday, June 29th, Union Drive and Welch Road east of Bissell Road will be closed on ISU campus through the end of July 2009. Therefore, all routes typically traveling Union and Welch will be detoured around this area. For more information including closed stops and a map of the route, please click here!
#6 Brown South - Closed bus stops on #6 Brown South until further notice along Stange Rd. For more information, click here!

Statewide Passenger Transportation Study Survey- The Iowa Department of Transportation is currently undergoing a transit study due to the State Legislature in December 2009 to determine the VISION for transit in Iowa, but more specifically how it can work for you in Ames and Central Iowa in the future. Heartland Senior Service begins new transit service to Iowa City -Heartland Senior Services is beginning a new regional transit service to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City each Tuesday and Wednesday starting January 20, 2009.
